Rebecca C. Poon



Rebecca teaches courses and supervises apprentice teaching in the Cal Teach Berkeley program. She received her Ph.D. in education at UC Berkeley, M.A. and teaching credential in mathematics at Stanford University, and B.A. in mathematics at UC Berkeley. For five years she taught algebra and geometry at Aragon High School in San Mateo, CA. During that time, she also participated as a team lead for the California School Recognition Program (CSRP), a committee member for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and a lead member for the Math Articulation Team (MAT), a collaboration between San Mateo Union High School District and its feeder schools. Rebecca has served as interim program coordinator for Math for America (MfA) Berkeley and supported the research and evaluation efforts of the Berkeley Science and Math Initiative (BSMI), the umbrella organization of Cal Teach and MfA Berkeley. Rebecca's interests are in the mathematics content preparation and professional development of K-12 mathematics teachers.
