Hee-jeong Kim

I'm a PhD student in Education in Mathematics, Science, and Technology (EMST) program since Fall 2009.

I was a middle school mathematics teacher for 5 years and a high school mathematics teacher for 1/2 year in Korea. I participated in some research projects funded by Daejeon Education and Science Institution, in the Classroom Consulting Group organized by Daejeon Seobu District of Education which is similar to Lesson Study in Japan, and in some research team of the Korean Society of Teachers Mathematics for those years.

I'm currently involving in research projects with middle school mathematics classroom through the Algebra Teaching study under the direction of Alan Schoenfeld.

My current research focuses on mathematics teachers' knowledge for teaching and how professional development can support mathematics teachers to improve their practices in terms of knowledge for teaching.
